Gyoza is japanese pan-fried dumplings. This recipe makes 40 dumplings and in suitable for 6 people.
👩🏻🍳Ingredients:
🌕4 cups minced cabbage(soft and leafy parts)
🌕500 gr minced meat
🌕2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
🌕3 cloves garlic finely minced
🌕100gr Spring onion
🌕2 teaspoon Japanese dark miso paste
🌕1 teaspoon sesame oil
🌕1/4 teaspoon chili powder
🌕40 dumpling wrappers
🌕Salt&pepper
⭐️For cooking the dumplings:
🌕4 tablespoons oil
🌕water
⭐️For Dipping Sauce:
🌕6 tablespoons soy sauce
🌕3 tablespoons rice vinegar
🌕Some drops of chili oil or sesame oil
👩🏻🍳Method:
🌕Sprinkle salt and pepper on minced cabbage and leave it for 15 minutes
🌕Add the meat, ginger, garlic, spring onion, miso, sesame oil and chili powder
🌕Mix everything together well
🌕Put a dumpling wrapper on a surface, and place a teaspoon of the meat mixture in the center of the wrapper
🌕Fold the wrapper over to enclose the filling, and pinch the wrapper in the center to seal the edges together
🌕Set aside the stuffed dumpling with the pleated-wrapper edge up
🌕Repeat to make all dumplings
🌕In a large pan heat 1 tablespoon of the cooking oil over medium-high heat
🌕Carefully place as many of the dumplings that can fit in the pan with the pleated-wrapper edge up
Cook the dumplings for 5 minutes, or until golden brown on the bottom
🌕Once the bottoms are golden brown,pour in 1/4 cup of the water
🌕Place the lid on the skillet to hold the moisture and then turn down the heat
🌕Remove the dumplings from the pan
🌕While the dumplings are cooking, make the dipping sauce by mixing the soy sauce, rice vinegar and sesame/chili oil together in a small bowl
🌕Serve the dumping shot with dipping sauce
🌕Garnish it with some green leaves
